3.3.8.1. Installation of piston rings

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before installation of new piston rings sort rings and check a gap in joints (вото at the left). For this purpose push a ring the piston bottom (a photo on the right). The ring should be in the lower part of the cylinder, in the situation corresponding to the bottom dead point.
2. If the gap is too small, a thin file carefully file ring end faces, having clamped it in a vice. Drive a ring on a file, but not on the contrary. The increase in a gap in a joint to 1,0 mm is allowed.
3. Repeat procedure for all rings of one piston.
4. Establish rings on the piston, having begun with the maslosjemny. Establish in a flute a ring divider / dilator. Be convinced available a pin of a flute (if it is provided) and establish the bottom and top disks.
5. At installation of maslosjemny disks to use the adaptation for clothing of rings it is impossible, as their breakage is possible. Insert a disk, press and a finger since one end carry out on a ring, having laid that it in a flute.
6. Be convinced that the top and bottom disks are freely turned in a flute (it is specified by an arrow). Establish one after another the bottom and top kompressionny rings. Labels on rings should be turned to the piston bottom (i.e. up at normal position of the piston). At existence use an ekspander of rings.
