GENERAL INFORMATION

Provisions on the switch (Up – up, Off – off, Down – down). Replace the switch if short circuit of contacts does not correspond to the chart.

The electric drive of a window regulator provides lifting and lowering of lateral windows. Its structure includes switches, the relay, electric motors, a window regulator and wires.

The electric drive turns on or the main switch on a door of the driver, or remote switches on each of doors. Lowering or lifting are regulated by the provision of each of switches. In each door the reversive electric motor is mounted.

The chain of the electric drive is protected by a safety lock and a breaker. In each electric motor the individual breaker that at refusal of one drive drives of other windows were not disconnected is in addition mounted.

The electric drive of a window regulator works only at the included ignition. On the most part of cars the blocking switch which disconnects electric drives of other windows except driver's (on a part of cars of only back windows) is provided.

Below the general procedures of search of malfunctions which can be executed independently are described. If with their help it is impossible to eliminate malfunction, address in car-care center.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. If window regulators of all windows do not work, at first check a safety lock and a breaker.
2. If window regulators of only back windows do not work, or the drive works only from the main switch, check short circuit of contacts of the blocking switch. If contacts do not become isolated, the switch replace.
3. Check a conducting condition between switches and a safety lock, if necessary repair.
4. If only one window regulator does not work, check the main switch and the switch of an idle window (except driver's).
5. If the window regulator works only from one switch, check short circuit of contacts of the switch according to the enclosed scheme. If results of check negative, the switch replace.
6. If the switch is serviceable, check a chain between the switch and the electric motor.
7. If from both switches the same window regulator does not work, remove the panel, include a window regulator and check tension on the switch and the electric motor.
8. If tension on the electric motor is present, disconnect glass from a window regulator and check freedom of its moving up and down. Check also freedom of moving of a window regulator. If damages are absent and glass moves freely, replace the electric motor. Otherwise grease details or replace.
9. If tension on the electric motor is absent, check wires from switches to electric motors. If in a chain the relay is provided, check tension existence on the relay and its connection with weight.
10. Upon termination of check window regulator work.
