2.16. Check of an exhaust system
GENERAL INFORMATION

Check is carried out on the cold engine (not less than three hours later after a stop). Check a condition of all details of an exhaust system, beginning from the engine and to terminal section of the exhaust silencer. It is best of all to check from the bottom, on the lifted car when unlimited access to all details of system is provided.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check existence on pipes and connections existence of corrosion, mechanical damages, existence of leakage of exhaust gases. Be convinced of durability of fastening of details of system.
2. Check a condition of connection of exhaust pipes (it is specified by an arrow).
3. Check a condition of rubber suspension brackets of pipes (it is specified by an arrow).
4. At the same time examine a condition of the bottom of the car, check existence of corrosion, the through openings, the dispersed seams, through which exhaust gases can get to car salon. Close up all through openings in the body bottom a silicone shpaklevka.
5. Knocks and other noise can be often caused by details of an exhaust system, especially in places of their fastening. Shake pipes, exhaust silencers, the catalytic converter. If these details come to contact with suspension bracket details, replace elements of fastening of an exhaust system.
