2.21. Thermostat of the air filter (carburetor engines)
GENERAL INFORMATION

The thermostat provides supply of warmed-up air in the air filter at various temperature of the engine.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Operation of the thermostat is checked visually by means of a mirror.
2. Find a thermostat zaslonka.
3. On some cars disconnect an air line of cold air from a filter bell in the direction specified by an arrow (1). Zaslonka (2) should be visible through a bell.
4. At engine warming up the zaslonka should block gradually a filter bell which the hose from a final collector and a prestarting heater joins.
5. After engine warming up the zaslonka (1) should open completely the channel of cold air (see subsection 6.5).
