2.29. Check and adjustment of gaps of valves
GENERAL INFORMATION
Prevention

The manufacturer recommends to regulate valves only in case of the increased noise from the klapanny mechanism.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Warm up the engine.
2. Uncover heads of cylinders and establish the piston of the 1st cylinder in VMT of a step of compression (see subsection 3.1.3). Valves of the cylinder should rock freely.
3. Measure shchupy gaps in valves specified illustrations. Shchup should pass between a yoke and a valve core under small effort.
4. If the gap differs from norm, unscrew a lock-nut and, rotating a screw-driver the screw, establish the necessary gap.
5. Holding the screw a screw-driver, tighten a lock-nut and again check a gap.
6. Put labels on a pulley of the crankshaft and on a forward cover. Turn the crankshaft on 1 turn before coincidence of labels, measure and if necessary adjust gaps in the valves specified an illustrations.
7. Establish all removed details.
