2.33.2. Hand brake

 Check and adjustment

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Transfer the transmission lever to neutral situation. Having made moderate effort the lever of the hand brake, count up number of clicks of a full speed of the lever. If the number of clicks does not correspond to norm, the hand brake should be adjusted.
2. Check operation of the hand brake, having established the car on an abrupt slope. If the car rolls down, adjust the hand brake. The order of adjustment is described in subsection 8.13.
3. On cars with back disk brakes the hand brake should be checked annually. For this purpose lift the car and remove back wheels and disks of brakes (see subsection 8.5), take aside and fix supports.
4. Check thickness of blocks of the hand brake (it is specified by shooters) which as a rule wear out only at the wrong adjustment. If the thickness of slips less than 0,8 mm, is recommended to replace blocks. Check a condition of a regulator and springs.
